Deutsche Spirituosen Manufaktur: Spirits, Gin, and Liqueurs from Berlin-Marzahn

The Deutsche Spirituosen Manufaktur, DSM for short, was founded in Berlin in 2017 by Tim Müller and pharmacist Dr. Konrad Horn. Horn developed the recipes – each label bears the inscription "According to the original recipe by Dr. Horn." Distillation is carried out by hand and in small batches in a listed brick building in Berlin-Marzahn using two copper stills. Since December 2025, Bjarne Henning Hutmacher, founder of Schwarzer Walfisch Gin, has been running the distillery with the existing team.

Spirits and Gin: Numbers instead of fantasy names

Each distillate bears a three-digit number, sorted by raw material groups. Raw materials low in sugar are macerated in alcohol and distilled into spirits (Geiste), while sugar-rich fruits are fermented and distilled into brandies (Brände); according to the manufacturer, all distillates are created without artificial flavorings, colorings, or sugar. Here you will find Blood Orange Spirit No. 125 made from Sicilian Tarocco, Hazelnut Spirit No. 400 made from roasted Piedmont nuts, both at 42% vol, and the London Dry Gin 47% with a good three dozen botanicals.

Liqueurs made from our own distillate, juice, and sugar syrup

DSM liqueurs are prepared using the respective spirit, mother juice, and sugar syrup, without the addition of flavorings or colorings and without harsh filtration – a slight sediment is intentional. The Raspberry Liqueur No. 915 has 20% vol, the Ginger Liqueur No. 925 with ginger spirit, fresh juice, and ginger tea has 30% vol, and the Limoncello No. 960 made from organic lemon peel from the Amalfi Coast has 29% vol.
