Mondino: Organic Amaro from the Chiemgau

Mondino comes from the Schnitzer distillery in Traunstein, a family-run distillery in the Chiemgau region that, according to the manufacturer, has been in existence for over 100 years. The story behind it: Master distiller Hans learned the craft in Italy in the 1960s and brought the recipe for an amaro back to Bavaria. His grandson Max revived it with three friends – consistently organic, with regional ingredients and less sugar than the Italian originals.

Bitter orange, rhubarb, gentian, hibiscus

The Amaro Bavarese Rosso is the distillery's bitter aperitif: freshly macerated bitter oranges from the Amalfi Coast and Spain, fresh rhubarb, yellow gentian from the Alps, and hibiscus flowers for the red color, combined with Bavarian spring water, 18% vol. The Amaro Bavarese Stagionato is aged for almost a year in oak barrels and, at 24% vol, features vanilla notes from the wood. The Amanero Herbal Liqueur is a herbal bitter with over 30 herbal essences, stored in wooden barrels for months, 31% vol – the digestif of the range.

Mondino Senza: the Spritz without alcohol

The Organic Aperitivo Senza is the non-alcoholic version with the same tart-fruity direction: with tonic or non-alcoholic prosecco, it becomes a spritz that tastes like an aperitivo even without the alcohol. Once opened, the bottle should be kept in the refrigerator.
