Zum Heiligen Stein Ketchup: From Restaurant to Jar

Zum Heiligen Stein is a ketchup manufacturer in Lich near Gießen, born out of the Sauerborn family's restaurant of the same name in Muschenheim. There, lamb bratwurst from their own farm was served as currywurst – and guests wanted to take the homemade ketchup home with them. It has been available in jars since 2010, in retail stores since 2017, and today it is sold by over 600 retailers.

43 Percent Tomato, Raspberry Vinegar, Cane Sugar

The base is the same for all varieties: around 43 percent double-concentrated tomato paste from Northern Italy, cane sugar, vinegar with raspberry juice, bell pepper, and spices. No thickeners, no flavor enhancers, no preservatives – vegan, and thick enough to be spooned out of the jar. At the 2025 Great Taste Awards hosted by the British Guild of Fine Food, all five varieties received awards.

Spicy Ketchup is our best-selling Zum Heiligen Stein ketchup – medium-hot, the all-rounder for fries and currywurst.
