Aus einer Unverträglichkeit wurde eine Biscuiterie

Am Anfang von Generous stand eine Diagnose: Mitgründer Christophe Harou stellte fest, dass er Gluten nicht verträgt. Mit seiner Frau Théodora entdeckte er in Brüssel die glutenfreie Adresse „L'Arrière-Cuisine“ von Jean-Benoît und Aurélie Ghenne. Zu viert gründeten sie die Marke Generous. Das erste Atelier lag in Anderlecht an einem Kanal, Anfang 2013 umfasste die „Familie Generous“ fünf Sorten. Seit 2013 backt Generous nach eigener Aussage Bio-Kekse ohne Gluten, heute in Tubize in Wallonisch-Brabant.

Buchweizen, Bio und Figuren mit Charakter

Die Rezepte kommen ohne Weizen aus. Die Basis ist Buchweizen, ergänzt um Tapiokamehl und Kartoffelstärke, bei einzelnen Sorten glutenfreier Hafer. Alle Kekse sind bio, kontrolliert von Certisys (BE-BIO-01), und glutenfrei mit weniger als 20 mg pro Kilogramm. Generous bezeichnet sich als familiengeführte, handwerkliche Biscuiterie und backt nach eigener Aussage mit Sonnenenergie. Jede Sorte ist eine Figur mit Namen und Charakter. Kekse, die beim Backen brechen, verschenkt Generous als „Generous Box“ an soziale Organisationen, verpackt wird in Zusammenarbeit mit einem geschützten Betrieb.

Die Schokoladenkekse Charlotte Chocolat, die Zitronenkekse Céline Citron, die Haselnusskekse Nicole Noisette und die Vanillekekse Victor Vanille, je 100 g, dazu die veganen Haferkekse Martin Matin mit 150 g. Alle Sorten sind glutenfrei, Martin Matin ist zusätzlich vegan, Nicole Noisette laut Hersteller laktosefrei. Wer Generous noch nicht kennt, fängt mit Céline Citron zum Nachmittagstee an oder mit Charlotte Chocolat zum Espresso.
