For Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas & Co. – Pico de Gallo
This salsa is quick to prepare and a welcome addition to any barbecue party. Jalapeños provide a pleasant heat, while lime adds freshness. Roma tomatoes have firm flesh and are therefore particularly well-suited for this recipe. (Otherwise, remove as much tomato juice and seeds as possible.) For the right consistency, we recommend chopping the ingredients as finely as possible. You can use Pico de Gallo to enhance tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. In this country, the sauce is also known as Salsa Mexicana. Have you tried it yet?
Vegetarian Party Chili sin Carne
With tofu mince, this Mexican classic tastes just as delicious. You should make sure to sear the meat substitute until it’s nice and crispy. This simple dish is perfect for any party, regardless of the season. Freshly chopped cilantro gives Chili sin Carne a refreshing herbal note. Serve it with rice, potatoes, or white bread. If you're craving even more Mexico, serve it with tortillas, of course!
Traditionally Mexican – Tacos with Beef and Cilantro
Tortillas are available on every corner in Mexico at any time of day. If you want to make the flatbreads yourself, it’s best to mix corn flour with wheat flour for the right consistency. Or you can get some Masa Harina. This Mexican corn flour is specially made for preparing tortillas and is now often found in standard supermarkets. With a little practice, you can quickly whip up homemade tacos. The filling with beef and jalapeños is traditional and simply tastes delicious.
Pure Cilantro – Salsa Verde
This condiment delights with a wonderfully intense herbal flavor and goes well with all kinds of meat and fish dishes. Of course, you can also enhance vegetables with this green sauce. It pairs particularly well with grilled bell peppers, white and red beans, or eggs. In Mexico, tortillas, refried beans, scrambled eggs, and Salsa Verde are served for breakfast. Maybe this is just the right thing for you?
Hearty Breakfast – Huevos Rancheros
These eggs baked in tomato sauce are savory, delicious, and will keep you full well into the morning. It is best to use firm Roma tomatoes for this recipe, as they contain less juice. You can also use green bell peppers for half of the recipe, which will give the flavor a slightly more bitter note. Mexicans classically serve this dish for breakfast as well. If you prefer to start your day ascetically, you can of course eat this meal at lunchtime instead. Delicioso!
